Erika Setzu is the Pharmacist Educator at the Bermuda Diabetes Association. Over the course of her career, she has accumulated a broad range of experience from having worked at the University, in hospitals, for the government, primary care, and the community.
For the last 20 years, she worked extensively with patients with diabetes. Before joining the BDA, Erika ran her own clinics as part of a very large GP practice in the UK. These included, the management of people with chronic conditions, such as cardiovascular disease, hypertension, depression, diabetes, just to mention a few, as well as running biweekly virtual ward round for the local rest homes and managing prescriptions for palliative patients.
Erika, hopes to incorporate the knowledge she gained during her career into her role at the BDA and she is committed to improving the quality of life of people living with diabetes and its complications. She was drawn to the BDA’s commitment to creating a healthier, more equitable Bermuda.
